Fan Football Scout is a community site where football fans and scouts rate players from around the world, one ability at a time, then compare the results and argue about them. The aim is to build each score from many people’s ratings rather than one person’s opinion.
None of these numbers is an official verdict. They show where the ratings stand today, and they keep moving as more people rate. If you think a number is wrong, rate the player yourself and push it.
What you can do here
- Player ratings: Rate players in Fan mode (simpler, everyday abilities on a 0–100 scale) or Scout mode (finer-grained abilities on a 0–20 scale). You don’t need an account to rate.
- Ability rankings: Rankings by ability, position, league, nationality and age, built from the ratings. You’ll find them inside the Compare tab.
- Leagues and players: Browse major leagues in Europe, South America, Asia and beyond, along with the players in each squad.
- Legends: Rate all-time greats, retired or still playing, and compare them with today’s players.
- FM Manager Styles: Tactic cards for Football Manager 26, most of them based on a real manager’s season, with a formation, player roles and team instructions you can set up in the game.
- FM Save Codi: A tool for your own FM26 save. It raises the potential of players who had a strong last season and gives faceless newgens AI-made face photos.
- Community: Share opinions with other fans through comments, direct messages, favorites and the board.
Ways to use it
- Rate a favorite player yourself and see how your scores compare with the average
- Look for overlooked prospects in the ability rankings
- Put two players side by side and compare their abilities
- Pick a favorite manager’s tactic card and try it in your own FM save
Who runs the site
Fan Football Scout is built and run by Esper, an individual developer in South Korea. It is a one-person project, not a company, so the same person looks after the site, reviews reports and answers email. The site is free to use, and any advertising on it goes toward the running costs.
Fan Football Scout (ffscout.net) is an independent site and is not affiliated with Fantasy Football Scout.

Where the data comes from
- Player and club lists: Built from public football data, mainly Wikipedia’s league and club pages, and refreshed once a month.
- Starting estimates: Many players start with a machine-made estimate. In Scout mode it is worked out from public career numbers (appearances, goals, age and height) along with position and league level; in Fan mode it is the player’s Scout score converted to the 0–100 scale. In each mode it counts as a single rating, so once fans rate a player their scores soon outweigh it. Treat it as something to argue with, not as the answer.
- FM tactic cards: Most cards are built from FBref team statistics for each season. Each team is ranked against the other sides in its league that season on five style axes: pressing, defensive line, tempo, width and build-up.
- Fan ratings: Every other score comes from visitors who rate players on this site. Until a cleanup is finished, though, some early scores also include test ratings the operator entered before launch.
How scores work
Each ability is rated on its own: 0–100 in Fan mode and 0–20 in Scout mode. The score you see is a trimmed mean. Once an ability has at least 10 ratings, the highest 10% and the lowest 10% are left out before averaging, so the most extreme scores at each end don’t count.
Scores are settled in daily batches, so a new rating may not show straight away, and a player’s overall score is the plain average of their ability scores. The Ability Guide explains what each ability means.
Legend notes
Most legend pages carry a short note on the player’s career and style of play, with a few things to think about before you rate. The notes are written with AI assistance. They are hints, not verdicts, so they never give a score. Some legends also have a note in English, checked against Wikipedia; the other notes are only in Korean for now.
Moderation
Comments, board posts and messages go through an automatic filter. Insults, racist or violent language, political content, ad-click baiting and links to non-football websites are blocked, and accounts that keep trying to post them are automatically stopped from posting.
Signed-in users can report comments and posts. Esper reviews reports and removes anything that breaks the rules. Repeated violations can lead to posts being removed without notice and the account being restricted. Once an ability has 10 or more ratings, the trimmed mean leaves out the top and bottom 10%, which limits how far a few extreme scores can pull the number.
To report something, or to appeal a removal or an account decision, email the address below. When an account is scheduled for deletion, its owner is told first and has 48 hours to appeal by email.
