Fan Football Scout (the “Service”) values the personal information of its users. This policy explains what personal information the Service collects, how it uses it and how long it keeps it.
Effective date: October 6, 2026
1. Personal information collected
The Service collects the following information to create and run user accounts.
- Signing up with a user ID: user ID, nickname and password (stored encrypted)
- Signing in with Google: the email address, name and profile image of your Google account
- While you use the Service: the comments, player ratings and messages you write, and your points balance and transaction history
- Using FM Save Codi: your save file is processed in your browser and is never uploaded. So that you can continue next season, the Service stores a small record for each save (the seasons already adjusted in each league, which photo each newgen received and the facepack folder name), linked to your account or to the anonymous visitor cookie.
- Contact form and suggestions: the inquiry type, the contact you want the reply sent to (email address or Telegram ID), your message and any screenshot you attach (optional). These are stored by the Service and also forwarded to the operator by email so that they can reply.
- Collected automatically: IP address, device and browser information, and records of inappropriate content you submit (used to prevent abuse)
2. How personal information is used
- Identifying members, signing in and managing accounts
- Providing the core features, such as player ratings, comments, messages and points
- Running and protecting the Service, for example by blocking abuse, profanity and illegal content
- Answering inquiries and sending notices
3. Sharing with third parties and outsourced processing
The Service does not sell users’ personal information to anyone. It processes data through the following infrastructure services.
- Google: authentication for Google sign-in (OAuth)
- Cloudflare: hosting the Service and storing its database
- Resend: sending email (forwarding inquiries and suggestions to the operator, and password reset emails)
4. How long information is kept
As a rule, a user’s personal information is destroyed without delay when the user deletes their account. Comments and posts you write are not deleted automatically after a set period. They are kept until you delete your account, unless you remove them yourself first, they are removed for breaking the rules, the post or comment they reply to is deleted, or the operator cleans them up.
When you delete your account, your account information and related data, including the comments, posts and player ratings you wrote, your points, your favorites and your suggestions and inquiries, are deleted and cannot be recovered. The following may remain.
- Messages already exchanged: these are not deleted. Messages you sent stay in the recipient’s inbox, shown with your nickname.
- Records that prevent abuse: the minimum needed to stop abuse, such as reports you filed, the number of past sanctions and the operator’s action log
- Emails sent to the operator: inquiries and suggestions are also forwarded to the operator by email so that they can reply, and those emails may stay in the operator’s mailbox.
- FM Save Codi records: these may remain, no longer linked to any account.
- Information the law requires us to keep: kept for the period the law requires.
5. Your rights and how to use them
- Viewing and correcting your information: sign in and open ‘Profile’
- Deleting your personal information: you can delete your account and its data at any time from ‘Profile → Delete Account’ (see section 4 for what may remain).
6. Cookies
The Service uses a session cookie to keep you signed in. You can refuse cookies in your browser settings, but some features, such as signing in, may then not work.
The Service also uses one anonymous visitor cookie, which does not identify you, to count visitors and how many people are online at the same time. While a page is open, your browser sends a presence signal once a minute. Along with the anonymous cookie value, the signal carries basic browser information used to tell people from automated bots: the browser’s user-agent string, whether it is an automated browser and whether the page has actually been clicked or touched. Only the anonymous cookie value, the time and the country worked out from your IP address are stored, and the signal does not record which pages you viewed. The same cookie also links FM tactic votes and FM Save Codi records made without signing in to that browser.
The Service also uses a language cookie that remembers the language you choose, and a referral cookie that remembers for one day which promotional link brought you to the site.
7. Advertising and advertising cookies (Google AdSense)
To cover its running costs, the Service shows third-party ads, including Google AdSense. The following applies.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s previous visits.
- Google’s advertising cookies may be used to show you personalized ads based on your visits to various websites.
- You can turn off personalized ads in Google Ads Settings.
- You can also opt out of third-party vendors’ cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
To see how Google uses data when it serves ads, read Google’s advertising policy.
8. Protecting personal information
Passwords are stored in an encrypted form that cannot be decrypted, and data sent between your browser and the Service is protected with encryption (HTTPS).
