Style reports rank every team in a league season on the five style axes that drive our FM26 tactic cards: pressing intensity, defensive line, tempo, width and build-up. Each report shows which teams sit at each end of every axis, how pressing compares with possession, and the full grid for every team in the league.
How to read a report
Every axis is a rank inside one league and one season, and 1st means the highest value on that axis. The tables at the top show the three teams at each end. A † marks a team that changed manager during the season: the figures are for the whole season, so they mix more than one manager’s games, and the FM26 card is filed under one of them.
What the five axes measure
Pressing intensity combines tackles won, interceptions and fouls, ranked per game and again relative to the time a team spent without the ball. The other four axes (defensive line, tempo, width and build-up) are ranked the same way from team statistics, and the exact method is explained on How ratings work.
From ranks to FM26 settings
The same ranks are turned into team instructions and role settings on the FM26 tactic cards. A report explains the real season; a card shows how to recreate it in the game.
Frequently asked questions
- Where do the numbers come from?
- Each league season is ranked using team statistics from FBref. Every axis is a rank within one league and one season, so a team is only compared with the other teams in the same competition.
- Why can a team’s pressing rank differ from its tackles per game?
- Pressing intensity ranks tackles won, interceptions and fouls twice and combines them: once per game and once relative to the time a team spent without the ball, with the second ranking counted double. Teams that have a lot of possession therefore get some help from the adjusted ranking.
- Why do two teams share a rank?
- Teams level on a stat share a place, shown as =3rd, and the place below is skipped. Figures are rounded to one decimal place while ranks use the unrounded numbers, so two teams that show the same figure can sit in different places.
- Are these official Football Manager ratings?
- No. Fan Football Scout is an independent fan site and is not affiliated with Sports Interactive or SEGA. The style ranks are our own calculation from public football statistics.
Each report ranks every team in one league season on the five style axes used by our FM tactic cards: pressing intensity, defensive line, tempo, width and build-up. Ranks come from FBref team statistics and are computed within that league and season only. Every report has tables for the top and bottom teams on each axis, a pressing-versus-possession chart, a full team table and links to the matching FM26 cards.
